Senior Electrical TesterLocation: Colorado-based is preferred, however the Electrical Tester position can be located at other CLP Engineering locations, or remote in a state where CLP Engineering is registered.CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking a Senior Electrical Tester to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment; Seeking a candidate with 5+ years of experience who is available for up to 75% travel. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen.CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.The Senior Electrical Tester will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Testers will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.City Light & Power/CLP Engineering has been recognized by The Denver Post as one of the top workplaces for 2025Duties and Responsibilities:Create plans for testing apparatus.Understand the theory behind and reason for testing with the ability to analyze strument transformer tests such as CT's/PT's/CCVT's/MU'sPower transformer testing - Power Factor, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.Cable testing - VLF/TD/PDAutomatic transfer switch testing & troubleshootingLow, Medium and High voltage switchgear, SF6 and vacuum circuit breaker testingModerately complex relay calibration and power metering.Ability to perform complex troubleshootingConsult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and teract positively with customers.Other duties as assigned.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Skills & Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or previous military experience preferred.Minimum of five (5+) years of relevant testing experience with:Prescence of Voltage VerificationContact ResistanceInsulation ResistanceTest Equipment Set UpOne-line DrawingsNETA or NICET Certification (III or IV) or similar desiredMust have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel.
