Requisition ID: 177845 Position Summary Assist skilled craftsperson(s) by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience and assigned job step. Experience Level Entry Primary Responsibilities and Duties u2022 Learn to read isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping efficiently u2022 Assist skilled craftsman to align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position for welding u2022 Assist with the assembly and securing of pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints u2022 Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications u2022 Learn to distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials u2022 Learn to manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment u2022 Operate tools and equipment including: beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall u2022 Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports u2022 Assist with hydro testing piping systems Qualifications u2022 May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. u2022 Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position u2022 Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision u2022 Field experience in chosen craft discipline u2022 Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools. Requirements The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl u2022 Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions u2022 Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required u2022 May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds u2022 Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces u2022 Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment u2022 May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site u2022 Must have required tools u2022 May require U.S. Driver License u2022 Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required u2022 Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
