You will use fluoroscopic equipment to capture images ofbloodvessels.By doing so, you will be able to interveneon a patient's potential heart blockages that could cause a heart attack, leading to saving theirlives.Taking on this opportunity will not onlyallowyou to advance yourskills butcan also lead to cross-training in Electrophysiology andadditionaleducational training.A caregiver in this position worksdays from 7:00AM - 5:30PM or 7:30AM - 6:00PM, with on-call requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Utilize sterile or aseptictechniquesto scrub in and perform vascular,interventionaland surgical procedures per protocol.Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipmentand exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast druginteractionsand major effects.Set-up oroperateinjectorto administer contrast agents for procedures and manually inject contrast agent if no pressure injector isutilized.Operate ancillary equipment adherent to specific procedures.Check and preparepatientsprior toVascular-Interventionalstudy.Screen patients for ability to undergoprocedureby understanding baseline lab requirements.Positionpatients to obtain radiographic exposure.Acquire, archive,transmitandprintimages via pleteafter-hourstransmission of images andappropriate paperwork.Report malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.Process billing via RIS.Record andmaintainprocedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopictimeand procedural information.Monitor equipmentandsystems, cleanequipmentand effecttimelyrepair.Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate of an accredited school ofRadiologicTechnologyRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsR.T.(R) (ARRT)and in good standingCurrent state licensure as a Radiology TechnologistBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red CrossKnowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomyKnowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic examsKnowledge of sterile technique with the ability to create andmaintaina sterileenvironmentPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:One year of experience as a Radiologic TechnologistCertification inCardiovascular-InterventionalRadiographyR.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT)orVascular-InterventionalRadiologyR.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)Experience in high volume angiography departmentPhysical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $31.00Maximum hourly: $46.50The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
