Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Accounting to lead our client's accounting operations in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, month end close, bank reporting and the management of a skilled accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and transparency in financial processes. For immediate consideration, please send your resume to Carol Nichols, SVP Robert Half Finance and Accounting, to : u2022 Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders, including lenders, investors, and auditors. u2022 Conduct technical research to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. u2022 Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations and ensure consistency. u2022 Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on special projects and ad hoc reporting. u2022 Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and assist in preparing audit schedules. u2022 Ensure uniform accounting practices across multiple business entities within the organization. u2022 Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, and company policies. u2022 Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements. u2022 Address and resolve any accounting-related issues or challenges that arise. u2022 Lead initiatives to enhance accounting systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including managerial roles. u2022 At least 2-3+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar environment. u2022 Proven expertise working in a large, multi-unit organization, preferably in the hospitality or retail industry. u2022 In-depth knowledge of technical accounting principles, including GAAP compliance. u2022 Exceptional analytical, organizational, and presentation skills. u2022 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities. u2022 Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a focus on team development and performance management. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
