The Oncology unit provides comprehensive care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including medical oncology and supportive therapies. Nurses on this unit care for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product administration, symptom management, and coordinated multidisciplinary care, with a strong emphasis on safety, education, and emotional support. The RN responsibilities include: Independently caring for a group of patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards Safely administering chemotherapy and other oncology treatments in accordance with policies and protocols Coordinating and delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team Providing patient and family education related to diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management Demonstrating professional accountability and commitment to ongoing development Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned Why BayCare?
