Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. In this fast-paced, patient-focused role, youu2019ll be a key support to our pharmacists, helping keep daily operations running smoothly. Youu2019ll prepare, file, and label prescriptions with accuracy, assist patients by answering questions and dispensing medications, and proactively reach out to let patients know when their prescriptions are ready. Responsibilities: + Perform technical and dispensing tasks, including prescription preparation, inventory management, utilizing dispensing technology. + Relay to the patient or responsible person the pharmacistu2019s offer to counsel. + With the approval of the pharmacist on duty, request and accept authorizations for refills from a prescriber or a prescriber's agent provided that no information has changed from the previous prescription except over the telephone. + With the approval of the pharmacist on duty, assist in the transporting of Schedule II controlled substances. Qualifications: Experience and Education: + Mustu00a0beu00a0atu00a0leastu00a018u00a0yearsu00a0old and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. + Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting + State licensure/registration. + Must complete a board approved training program or gain at least 500 hours or experience as a pharmacy technician trainee. Basic Knowledge/Skills: + Experience managing multiple competing priorities; excellent prioritization skills Creating a safe and effective environment. + Strong analytical and organizational skills including ability to analyze data to identify trends and communicate them through effective reporting methods. + Strong attention to detail; quality focused. + Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills including experience presenting complex information to senior leaders. + Skilled in exercising initiative, integrity, judgement, discretion, and decision making to achieve objectives. + Quick learner with customer service mindset.
