Work Site: On Site Req ID: 219299 Position Overview The CLS Plant Health Care Technician is responsible for fertilization, integrated pest management, and weed and fungi controls for trees, shrubs, and lawns on client properties using various equipment including spray and injection tools, while providing excellent customer service; and safely operating vehicles and equipment. This is a seasonal position, depending on the regional location. Job Duties u2022 Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to client properties using various equipment. u2022 Measure, mix, and prepare chemical solutions for trees, shrubs, and lawns. u2022 Follow work order specifications and maintain proper documentation, including pesticide labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). u2022 Inspect worksites for underground utilities and installations, and set up traffic control and vehicle safety measures. u2022 Diagnose plant diseases and determine appropriate treatments. u2022 Operate and maintain sprayer equipment, including loading materials, filling tanks, and ensuring machinery efficiency. u2022 Adhere to safety regulations, use safety equipment, and safely handle materials. u2022 Perform site clean-up and maintenance tasks. u2022 Communicate with clients about diagnoses and treatments. u2022 Keep daily application records and time reports. Qualifications u2022 Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field. u2022 Must be at least 21 years of age to operate equipment as a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified driver for specific vehicles or equipment. u2022 Valid Driveru2019s License. Class B CDL valuable, but not required. u2022 Successful completion in the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Technician training program as a plant heath care technician or the ability to obtain qualification within 90 days of hire. u2022 Ability to complete required safety courses. u2022 Applicator licenses acquired as necessary per state requirements. u2022 Ability to operate mobile power equipment.
