Thesuccessful candidate will participate in high-level clinical developmentand application of radiation oncology imaging, treatment planning, anddelivery systems to further high precision advancements in treatmentoptions and patient care. Our department is vibrant and growing with theFall 2024 opening of our dual-hub UW Health Cancer Center, EastparkMedical Center location, located on Madison's east side. The 469,000square foot state-of-the-art facility opened in October, 2024 andintroduced two new Varian TrueBeams, and a Varian Edge, Elekta FlexitronRemote Afterloader coupled with Siemens multi-energy CT on rails. Whilebeyond the scope of the present job description, proton therapy via aHitachi gantry room and fixed beam room with first-of-kind uprightpatient positioning system will be offered at the Eastpark location. Inaddition to the services provided at our Eastpark location, the UWHealth University campus currently includes a Viewray MRIdian Linac withdaily online adaptive radiation therapy, three Varian TrueBeams (oneSTx), an AccuRay Tomotherapy HDA, and two Elekta Flexitron RemoteAfterloaders. We offer a broad range of special procedures, includingSRS/SBRT, TBI, TSE, and brachytherapy for a wide range of treatmentsites (e.g., GYN, breast, prostate) with MRI-guided planning and BodyTomCT for image verification. Advanced simulation capabilities areroutinely integrated into clinical practice including Siemensdual-energy computed tomography and 1.5 T GE MR-simulator units.Automated planning/scripting is employed via robust use ofRayStation...
