We are seeking a veterinary clinician-scientist withan active or planned foundational or translational research programfocused on aging and extending healthspan. Candidates with expertise ina broad range of clinical and/or research areas related to healthspanare encouraged to apply. We aim to build upon and expand existingstrengths within the School of Veterinary Medicine and fostercollaborative research across UW-Madison through the Wisconsin Research,Innovation and Scholarly (RISE)-THRIVE (Transforming Healthspan throughResearch, InnoVation, and Education) initiative(RISE-THRIVE is a campus-widehiring initiative designed to harness and grow the university'sreputation as a global powerhouse in interdisciplinary healthresearch--translating both medical discoveries and innovative socialscience approaches into tangibly healthier lives for Wisconsinites andpeople and communities around the world. The successful candidate willbe expected to develop and maintain a strong and collaborative researchprogram. Competitive candidates will leverage existing strengths withinthe UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and more broadly within theUW-Madison campus community. The candidate will strive to make basic orclinical science discoveries that transform both animal and humanhealth, prioritizing novel approaches to increase healthspan in humansand companion animals. This may include programs that advance knowledgein therapeutics, clinical-translational diagnostics, precision medicine,biomarkers, animal modeling, topics related to OneHealth, the microbiomein health and disease, immunology, nutrition and healthy aging,behavior, cognition, or the human-animal bond.
