Clinical patient care at UW Healthapproved locations; clinical research endeavors; participation in theclinical teaching of medical students and residents. Incumbent willparticipate in the Department of Medicine, Nephrology Division journalclub activities and continuing professional education activities. Thisposition has been identified as a position of trust with access tovulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to passan initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under theWisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. There is a possibilitythis position could be extended for one additional year, for a totalmaximum of two years. Key Job Responsibilities: This position willalways function as a trainee when performing vascular access proceduralcare. The incumbent will be expected to: Participate in weeklyNephrology Grand Rounds; present one Grand Rounds session and onefellow' core curriculum lecture Present one abstract at a nationalconference and publish one manuscript Participate in any new qualityimprovement or peer review activities related to interventionalnephrology An additional component of the fellowship appointment isproviding unsupervised clinical services for the Division of Nephrologyas necessary and as assigned by the Division Chief. The clinicalactivities will include: general nephrology duties, such as: Ambulatoryclinic with a focus on chronic kidney disease care (One half-day perweek) Inpatient service on general nephrology services (acutes andEnd-Stage Renal Disease) including 8 weekend calls.
