( The Controls Engineer will work closely with a team lead and will report to an engineering supervisor. Engineer will assist with the installation and commissioning of very large and advanced material handling equipment with a focus on the e-commerce market. Extensive travel will be required due to equipment being installed at customer facilities globally. Job Responsibilities and Requirements Responsibilities u2022 Works under immediate supervision of senior team members. u2022 Designs in CAD electrical control panel layouts, bills of materials and schematics. u2022 Program PLCu2019s for control systems that include field devices such as photoeyes, shaft encoders, barcode scanners, solenoids, scales, etc. u2022 Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. This includes supporting Mechanical and Electrical Field installers. u2022 Must Follow all defined instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. u2022 Assists with project commissioning and troubleshooting of system installations. u2022 Assists with the creation and teaching of associated training. u2022 Perform Electrical System Audits to ensure high quality. u2022 Verify that actual work matches all documentation. Requirements u2022 B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or like equivalent from an accredited Institution u2022 0-2 years of related experiences u2022 Has knowledge of commonly-used controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures u2022 Must pass drug screening and background check u2022 Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds and climb ladders u2022 Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings u2022 Ability to understand manufacturer data sheets and apply them in practice u2022 Ability to configure PLCu2019s, HMIu2019s, computers, networks, cameras and variable frequency drives which are used to control sorters, conveyors, and other related equipment u2022 Ability to code, C/C++, JAVA, Matlab, Python, Ladder Logic or other IEC 61131 Languages u2022 Ability to develop electrical documentation packages, descriptions of operations, interfaces between systems, and be on-site during startup to coordinate and help resolve issues u2022 Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills with engineering groups, customers, suppliers and subcontractors u2022 A self-managed individual who is a team player u2022 Ability to travel, work weekends, holidays and overtime when required (up to 90% of the year). u2022 Position located at Intralox offices in Baltimore, Maryland Intraloxu2019s benefit program is a major part of an employeeu2019s total compensation from the company. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans Salary Range $68,000 to $187,600.
