Position Description: The Cement Finisher Foreman supervises and coordinates a team with project requirements. The Cement Foreman supports project details and safety matters. This position will perform or finish cement tasks. This is a safety sensitive position. Position Responsibilities: + Oversee and assist with the assembly and removal of forms that are used for the concrete installation + Supervise and assign teams appropriately + Use assorted power tools and small hand tools, including ten-pound sledgehammers, shovels, picks, handsaws, skill saws, and drills to assist with a variety of worksite projects + Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches for project requirements + Manage material management including inventory, distribution, and placement + Monitor project performance and report to management with updates. + Coordinates with other trade partnersu2019 foreman and superintendents as necessary + Promotes a safe work environment + Communicates and handles jobsite hazards + Oversee the security and verification of all site materials are properly stored Required Qualifications u2022 High School Diploma or GED. u2022 Minimum of 5 yearsu2019 experience in cement u2022 Valid Driveru2019s License. u2022 Demonstrated leadership skills. u2022 Intermediate cement knowledge. u2022 Experience using and maintaining power tools and small hand tools. u2022 Ability to take initiative u2022 Excellent attention to detail u2022 Ability to follow instructions. u2022 Excellent ability to communicate effectively and professionally u2022 Strong mathematical and quantitative skills Preferred Qualifications u2022 OSHA 10 Certification u2022 CPR & First Aid Certification u2022 Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading Physical Work Classification & Demands: u2022 Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. u2022 The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity. u2022 Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite. u2022 Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone. u2022 The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration. u2022 Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read and understand blueprints, load charts, and take/verify field measurements. u2022 Climbing u2013 Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. u2022 Working from heights u2013 the person must be comfortable and able to work from heights for extended amounts of time. u2022 Balancing u2013 Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. u2022 Stooping u2013 Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. u2022 Reaching u2013 Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time. u2022 Grasping u2013 Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly. u2022 Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. u2022 Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures. u2022 Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. u2022 Use of hands and wrists with various tools. u2022 Prolonged use of jackhammer and pavement breaker. u2022 Use of wheelbarrows and brooms. u2022 Repetitive use of hands and wrists using power, rotational, and vibration tools including prolonged use of jackhammers and pavement breakers. u2022 Tolerate legally permissible exposure to dusts and chemicals, such as cement dust, solvents, and curing compounds. u2022 The person must be able to safely wear a respirator and is able to pass applicable medical and fit testing examinations. u2022 Must be able to hear commands from supervisors and back-up safety alarms on equipment.
