Summary:The paint prepper will assist in the prepping vehicles and components for paint. This position will require the use of painting equipment, sandblasting equipment, and shop equipment.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, usingabrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, pressure washer, or sandblastersAssists painter in pre-paint blending needsPerform sand blast and other surface preparation and painting dutiesMaintain sand blasting equipment such as hoses, nozzles, and safety equipmentWorks with paint team to assist in keeping vehicle on track for scheduled completion timeFill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting.Buff and wax the finished paintworkWash equipment as neededDrive service vehicle to pick up parts from outside vendorsDrive vehicles within company propertyAttend all safety required meetings and perform all work as per OSHA, State and Federal guidelinesOperate a variety of stationary and portable power tools common to mechanics such as drill presses, grinders,impact wrenches, welders, torchesSweep, mop, and pick up trash/debris and dispose in dumpsterYard maintenance such as mowing yard and snow removal, etc.Global Responsibilities:Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this positionThis job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform thoseduties to meet business needsQualifications:Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredFundamental knowledge and understanding of the following areas: operating sandblaster, sanders, preppingsurfaces for paint applicationExperience:1 + years in paint shop or trade schoolSkills/Abilities:Must be able to commit to Revitalize Mixers value statementAbility to meet behavioral expectations and perform in alignment with Revitalize Mixers guiding principles:Safety, People, Relationship, Performance, and QualityPositive work attitude and ability to work closely with othersWorking Conditions:Must be able to perform job functions under extreme weather conditions and temperaturesMust have manual dexterity and physical agility to be able to spend long hours working beneath a vehicleand lying or standing in awkward positionsWork setting in an automotive garagePotential hazards include dust, diesel, fumes, solvents, oil spills, and electrical equipment within OSHAregulationsWearing proper safety equipment is a shop requirementPhysical Requirements:Reach up to 24” horizontally at a height of 44” and pull with a force of 100lbPushing/pulling vertically at a height of 47” with a force of 55-100lbPulling vertically at a height of 80” with a force of 15lbCrawling indoors on a smooth surface for 10 ftManually transport heavy truck parts (35lbs to 95lbs) to and from the work areaFront carry up to 95lb for 25 ftUtilize a variety of hand tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and pry bars with right and left-hand grip with a force of 80lbPushing/pulling horizontally and vertically at a self-selected height with a force of 100lbRight and left-hand coordinationRevitalize Mixers LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
