Sr. Accountant

Description Our client, a growing NP in Arlington, VA is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance across multiple entities, general ledger, month end close, supporting essential accounting operations, and contributing to process improvements. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. u2022 Prepare and reconcile key general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, intercompany transactions, and restricted funds. u2022 Post journal entries while maintaining thorough documentation for audit and compliance purposes. u2022 Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily banking activities. u2022 Utilize NetSuite for accounting transactions, reconciliations, and generating financial reports. u2022 Identify and implement improvements to NetSuite workflows and strengthen internal financial controls. u2022 Coordinate audit preparation activities, including creating schedules and gathering required documentation. u2022 Produce detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports and assist in variance analyses. u2022 Support initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining accounting processes. u2022 Collaborate with the Assistant Controller on special projects and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant role will have a BS in Accounting, 3+ years of hands-on non-profit accounting (including some international transactions) and NetSuite accounting software. This position is a minimum of 2 days/week in the office, full benefits and comp range of 90-100K + bonus. Requirements u2022 At least 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting and reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in NetSuite and familiarity with its functionalities for accounting and reporting purposes. u2022 Solid background in nonprofit and grant accounting practices. u2022 Experience managing multi-entity and international transactions, including intercompany reconciliations. u2022 Demonstrated ability to prepare audit schedules and provide audit support. u2022 Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail to ensure financial accuracy. u2022 Proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and time zones. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting is required; advanced qualifications are highly preferred.
