Scope of work The Certified Surgical Assistant assists the surgeon in the performance of approved surgical procedures, and who works under the direct supervision of and by the request of the operating surgeon. Qualifications + High school diploma Required + Associateu2019s Degree or equivalent Preferred. Required years of relevant experience in lieu of associateu2019s degree may be considered + Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program Required + Must receive certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant Certification (CSA) through the NCCSA, or Certified Surgical First Assistant Certification (CSFA) through the NBSTSA Upon Hire Required + 2 years of relevant experience; Surgical assisting experience Preferred + Certified (CST) u2013 AST Association of Surgical Technologist Preferred + Certified (CST) u2013 NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Preferred + Certified (CSFA) u2013 NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon Hire Required Or + At least one Certification from preferred list: + Certified (CSA) u2013 NCCSA National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants Upon Hire Required Or + Certified (SA-C) u2013 ABSA America Board Surgical Assistant Upon Hire Required + AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required + AHA ACLS Adv Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Hire Preferred How Corewell Health cares for you + Comprehensive benefits package to meet your financial, health, and work/life balance goals.
