Apply today Facility: East Cooper Medical Center Location: Mount Pleasant, SC Department: Surgery Position Type: Full Time - Days - Seasonal Resource Team - 12 week contract Work Schedule: 4- 10 hour shifts a week What You'll Do u2022 Under the direction of the Nurse, the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) provides essential support in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and quality care during surgical procedures. Responsibilities include: u2022 Assisting physicians during surgery by utilizing sterile techniques and maintaining a safe surgical environment u2022 Supporting licensed staff and physicians in accordance with approved clinical standards u2022 Performing other assigned duties to support surgical and patient care operations u2022 Taking responsibility for meeting the basic needs of assigned patients u2022 Providing care to a diverse patient population ranging from infant to geriatric u2022 Collaborating effectively with the healthcare team and contributing to hospital and unit goals u2022 Delivering care that aligns with established practice standards and departmental guidelines u2022 Willingness to float to other comparable units as needed What We're Looking For u2022 High school diploma or equivalent u2022 Successful completion of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists u2022 Must meet one of the following pathways: u25cb Hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the NBSTSA u25cb Completed surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service u25cb Practiced as a surgical technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, 2008 u25cb Serving as a surgical technologist in the federal government u2022 Current BCLS certification required u2022 NBSTSA certification required u2022 Previous hospital experience preferred Why Choose Novant Health?
