Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: u00b7 Triages phone calls, gives verbal and written orders according to standing orders or established protocols. u00b7 Provides assistance to EP doctor in office, and facilitates office schedule. u00b7 Performs interrogation and reprogramming on all models of pacemakers and ICDu2019s, and documents according to IHC protocols. u00b7 Performs general and cardiac nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards. u00b7 Reviews remote transmissions and completes documentation according to IHC protocol. u00b7 Reads and researches patient records, charts and Practice Manager System for other pertinent information. May dictate history and physical, consults and other professional related letters. u00b7 Reviews and reports pertinent test(s) and outside examination results, scrutinize for needed follow-up; communicates to Physician. u00b7 Maintains practice standards in regard to Quality Improvement and OSHA. u00b7 Provides patient and family education and documents in medical records. u00b7 Acts as a problem solver as it relates to patient, family, physician issues according to protocol. u00b7 Operate required vehicle(s) in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: u00b7 Clinical resource for Arrhythmia services technicians. u00b7 Monitors and maintains supplies on crash cart. u00b7 Participates in professional development. u00b7 Attends required meetings, participates on committees as required, and assists with organizing AICD support group meetings. u00b7 All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: u00b7 Three years of RN nursing experience required. Two years of critical care experience preferred or clinical cardiac equivalent experience required. u00b7 Current licensure as R.N., state of Iowa or compact state. u00b7 Valid Iowa Driveru2019s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercyu2019s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law. u00b7 Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire. u00b7 Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained by the end of the orientation period (approximately six (6) weeks).
