This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see:DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: BUILDING MAINT & OPERATIONS TECH 2Effective Date: January 2026Department/Location: FACILITIES & OPERATIONSHOYNE HOME BASE (ALL LOCATIONS WORKED IN)Position Type:Full-TimeFLSA Status:Union/ Non-ExemptShift/Hours: 8:00am 4:00pm Sat/Sun and three midweek days (rotating)SUMMARY:The Building Maintenance & Operations Tech II completes day-to-dayhelpdesk tickets and preventive maintenance across assigned properties,helping ensure the longevity of our buildings and the health and safetyof employees, residents, and program participants. This role requiresstrong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and reliablefollow-through along with the ability to work effectively in a varied,fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Complete day-to-day helpdesk tickets including but not limited toheating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing and piping;minor electrical repairs, appliance repairs; furniture repairs; Lock andDoor Repair, Painting and Drywall and general building maintenance andtroubleshooting.Responding to assigned maintenance requests in a timely manner.Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliersComplete Preventative Maintenance Tickets for our equipment andpropertiesPrioritize, schedule and complete maintenance work, assuring quality ofwork consistent with Anixter Center standards.Ensure all emergency, routine maintenance/repairs are carried out in atimely and professional manner.Respond promptly and effectively to all safety/risk-management-relatedissues at the property.Ensure proper maintenance of equipment to ensure warranty compliance andextend its useful life.Ensure proper safety procedures are followed, personal protectiveequipment is used, and health & safety policies are enforced.REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma/GED, trade school diploma, or military training2-3 years of relevant experience in property maintenance in multi-unitpropertiesExpertise in plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems as wellas generally accepted maintenance practicesAbility to read and interpret documents such as design drawings,blueprints, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructionsand procedural manualsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities andmeet deadlinesBasic computer working knowledge, including Microsoft Office and CMMSValid Illinois driver's license and reliable vehicleAbility to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to promote and adhere to agency valuesA commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environmentPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe requirements listed below are representative of the essentialfunctions of this position.
