The Role Routine responsibilities will include preparation and review of journal entries, oversight of accounting for balance sheet account reconciliations, financial statement analytics, and accumulation of details utilized to compile the quarterly statement of cash flows and footnote disclosures. In the undertaking of these tasks, the Senior Accountant will be expected to ensure the quality of work delivered by the teamu2019s Staff Accountants and assist their supervisor(s) to foster the Staff Accountantsu2019 career development. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the enhancement of internal controls and participating in special projects that improve or streamline accounting processes. u2022Preparation and review of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics over significant account balances, including cash, debt, and accruals. u2022Review journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics, and other work assigned to and prepared by staff accountants. u2022Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and special projects, as required. u2022Fielding and resolving inquiries from management, other departments within Hyatt, and external auditors. u2022Contribute to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls. u2022Reviewing quarterly schedules for external reporting. u2022Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt's core values. Qualifications: Experience Required: u20223-5 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or other equivalent business/financial role u2022Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field u2022Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Experience Preferred: u2022Masteru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or business u2022Certified Public Accountant u2022Supervisory responsibilities or other experience that requires ensuring the quality of work delivered by other individuals. u2022Financial ERP systems (Oracle, Hyperion) The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all-encompassing. This position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work.
