Reference #: 1355We are seeking a CNC Machinist (Journeyman)to join our federal team at ourYork, PAlocation.We're keeping the Navy cool. Literally. Our team at the Grantley Plant custom designs, develops and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels around the world. The job consists of performing duties required to plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, fit, braze tubing, thread, weld complex piping, system components and weld coded, and noncoded pressure vessel assemblies and subassemblies, working with ferrous, nonferrous metals, using conventional or automatic submerged arc welding and difficult positions of stick, tig, and manual arc welding of Navy equipment.Location:York, PA Navy Systems PlantShift:1st Shift, Monday-FridayPay:$31.95 per hourUnion: This is a bargaining unit (union) position.Learn more about Navy Systems York, PA Plant: Navy Systems, York PAAs a Machinist (Journeyman), you will:Use tool preset machine, precision measuring instruments, hand and hand power tools, deburr tools and appropriate material handling equipment.Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape program, instructions, or visual display units.Perform fixture change-overs, loading and unloading of production parts, on-line piece parts inspection and manual data input to insure specified finishes, tolerances.Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary).Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective action.Perform utility functions to maintain process.Will perform housekeeping and deburr internal to machining operations.Fills out PM check lists and may assist in the PM of the machine.Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, hand tools, tool setting equipment, appropriate material handling equipment.Required Qualifications:Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instrument, process sheets, program tapes.Knowledge of N/C controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1 to 2 years trades training.Ability to setup and operate any tape of tape controlled milling and frilling machines for all specified machining operations. Judgment required to plan, perform, make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, limitations.Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materialsU.S. citizenThis position requires proof of a Journeyman's Certification.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with set-up and operation of CNC machines, preferably with Horizontal Boring Mills, SNK, and Mori Seiki.Who We AreThe primary mission of Johnson Controls Navy Systems is to supply Chilled Water Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Systems and associated equipment to the US Navy and US Coast Guard.
