Job Description

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced CAD Operator to join our Natural Gas team in Warrenville, IL!The CAD Operator will be responsible for generating plan and detailed drawings for construction projects. Candidates with experience in gas distribution, gas transmission, pipelines, meter/regulator stations, and compressor stations are encouraged to apply. The operator's duties will include the following:Generating drawings using Kimley-Horn standards, client standards, and industry best practicesPerforming quality checks of drawings and revising them based on markups and design directions from clients or engineersCreating templates and tools for efficient execution of design projectsEnsuring CAD software is up to date and optimized for project executionMaintaining the drawing databaseSupervising and training drafters and designers as requiredMaintaining knowledge of Kimley-Horn practices, procedures, and standardsMaintaining knowledge of client and industry standardsWorking independently within the scope of assigned work to complete tasks within the designated hours and scheduleHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)3+ years of relevant experienceProficient in 3D CAD designExperience using CADWorx for piping designFamiliarity with instrumentation, electrical equipment and controls, P&ID, and loop/wiring diagramsProficiency with Autodesk or Bentley softwareStrong attention to detail and a commitment to learningSalary range: $60,000 - $80,000At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
