Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and providing support to employees regarding payroll systems and procedures. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Provide training and guidance to employees on payroll systems, including timesheet entry and accessing pay statements online. u2022 Perform data entry tasks using Excel and the organization's payroll software with a high degree of accuracy. u2022 Calculate and audit union-related payroll data in Excel as per instructions. u2022 Generate, download, and distribute payroll-related reports as required. u2022 Develop and run customized reports from the payroll system to meet organizational needs. u2022 Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including 401k and RRSP plans. u2022 Ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures through regular auditing and review. u2022 Collaborate with team members to address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Support various accounting and benefit functions related to payroll. u2022 Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned. Requirements u2022 Proficiency with accounting software systems and payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or Dayforce. u2022 Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including union calculations and benefit administration. u2022 Experience with Excel, including data entry and auditing capabilities. u2022 Familiarity with 401k and RRSP administration processes. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. u2022 Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Effective communication skills to train employees and address payroll-related inquiries. u2022 Previous experience in payroll or accounting functions is required.
