You will work alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the a direct patient facing environment, the infection preventionist professional implements, promotes and maintains an active infection prevention program through surveillance, investigative activities, consultation, education, policy development andResearch.A caregiver in this position works 9:00am to 5:00pm with on-call requirements occurring 2-3 times per year, potentially more depending on needs. A caregiver who excels in this role will:Conduct surveillance for hospital acquired infections; analyzes data. Generates reports, identifies trends.Provide recommendations for vestigate clusters of infections, outbreaks.Utilize knowledge of microbiology, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of patient care equipment.Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.Conduct audits on infection prevention practices.Provide education and serves as a consultant to various levels of care providers.Coordinate infection prevention committee meetings and other related activities.Coordinate the annual infection prevention risk assessment, review, and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention plan. Reports communicable diseases as required by the Ohio Department of Health.Collaborate with health departments in complying with issues related to outbreaks and control of communicable ply with mandates for state and federal public reporting of hospital acquired infections.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor's degreeThree years of recent relevant clinical experience including nursing, infection prevention, respiratory therapy, or medical technologyStrong communication, clinical assessment, and computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related programs)Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, IncCBIC is required after two years of hire dateCBIC Certification will offset one year of required experiencePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Registered Nurse (RN)Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.Pay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
