Position: Personal Care Assistant Location: South Boston Hours: Per-diem Overview: u201cThrough support, opportunity and challenge, Triangle empowers people with disabilities and their families to enjoy rich, fulfilling lives.u201d Triangle, an innovative non-profit organization assisting people with cognitive and physical disabilities is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for the Empowering People for Inclusive Communities (EPIC) program. EPIC, a part of Triangle, was founded in 2011 with the mission of preparing young people with disabilities to be actively engaged community leaders through education, leadership development and community service. About the Job: Triangle is looking for a dependable individual committed to assisting youth with disabilities to fulfill their leadership potential in the South Boston Areas. The qualified candidate will assist youth with disabilities in providing personal care and needed accommodations to ensure they are able to participate in EPIC programming, in addition to supporting staff with the execution of programming. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Assist EPIC youth with personal care routines as needed (toileting, eating, etc.) u2022 Support youth by providing needed accommodations to ensure their participation in EPIC programming u2022 Work with EPIC staff to assist in preparing for programming to make sure the needs of all of EPICu2019s young leaders are being met u2022 Supervise youth during workshops, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities u2022 Represents Triangle and EPIC to family members, community organizations, and partners u2022 Provide Program Participants with instruction in performing community service projects and other programming u2022 Ensure that all personal care assistance provide to EPIC youth fits into EPICu2019s self-advocacy model by ensuring that all assistance is youth led Additional Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Maintain proper care, use, inventory and storage of supplies and equipment u2022 Identify and assist in curriculum development and execution u2022 Participate in all required training u2022 Intervene in minor behavioral issues u2022 Participate in team meetings u2022 Assist in reaching programmatic goals set by EPIC Executive Director u2022 Other duties as assigned Please note: This position requires traveling to different partners. Candidate must have a valid driveru2019s license or dependable transportation. Candidate must pass a pre-employment CORI and Driving Record Check. Education and Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, that includes experience working with youth with disabilities. Experience assisting people with disabilities with their personal care.
