JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: Job Summary: The Brake PressSet-up/Operator is responsible for the daily setup and operation ofmanual, mechanical and computer-controlled metal working equipment in afabrication shop environment. He/she may be required to assist otheroperators as a helper on key work or machines as required.Duties/Responsibilities: Setup, operate and adjust mechanical and manualsheet/plate steel forming equipment. Setup, program, operate and adjustCNC controlled sheet/plate steel forming equipment. Select the correcttooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/leadassistance. Load, install and correctly set up the tools required withsome assistance from supervisor/lead. Able to troubleshoot metal formingproblems. Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolvebasic manufacturing issues or seek assistance. Perform assigned work totime standards and quality expectations. Account for time and workcompleted via a labor reporting system. Safely operate a forklift tohandle materials and completed work. Report and document basic material,production and quality control issues. Maintain performance log books onassigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance group.Participate in equipment maintenance at the operator level. Ability towork independently. Positive and Strong work ethic. Adopt andincorporate quality methods into their work. OTHER EXPERIENCEAND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge andunderstanding of sheet/plate steel forming characteristics. Competent atbasic dimensional measuring and the use of precision measurement tools.Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawingaids. Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraintswith guidance. Flexible and responsive with a strong teamworkorientation. Good verbal and written communication skills. Desire tolearn new skills and improve technical knowledge. Strong orientationtoward quality, safety and continuous improvement. Ability to work wellin a fast paced environment to meet team expectations. Commitment toquality and accuracy of work performed. Demonstrated ability toeffectively implement or respond to change.
