ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The RiseBoro of Home Delivered Meals (HDML)/Meals-on-Wheels program provides thousands of meals daily to various communities in Brooklyn, NY. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director and/or Director, the Replacement Deliverer of HDML is responsible for the daily delivery of meals to homebound clients. Additionally, the Replacement Deliverer is required to maintain accurate delivery records and assist with assigned program areas as needed. Specific duties and responsibilities include: u00b7 Packing of home-delivered meals u00b7 Deliver packed food to homebound clients and food satellites including holiday and or emergency food packages u00b7 Report to the coordinator any difficulty with meal delivery or change in client status as well as inability to deliver u00b7 Maintain an accurate daily log of meals delivered and contributions collected u00b7 Deliver program material and information to homebound clients u00b7 Move, unpack, and store food and supplies as required u00b7 Assist in scheduling meal delivery to minimize time and distance between delivery points u00b7 Assist with Kitchen Aide responsibilities u00b7 Assist with custodial duties at senior centers in case of program emergency u00b7 Assist with pick-up and delivery of congregate meals to other program sites if needed u00b7 When necessary pick up/ drop off interoffice mail u00b7 Perform duties as required by the supervisor of the site COMPETENCIES u00b7 Ability to work independently u00b7 Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs u00b7 Able to lift objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds u00b7 Ability to read, write, and speak English u00b7 Some knowledge of the area and/or ability to read maps and follow directions u00b7 Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons u00b7 Commitment to RiseBorou2019s mission, vision, and values u00b7 Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities u00b7 Have a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE u00b7 Some completed High School or equivalent coursework required; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action Policy It is the policy of RiseBoro to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment.
