Harris is looking for an On-Call or Part-Time Plan Check Engineer to join our dynamic Municipal team in southern CA. This Staff Augmentation work can be performed in a remote setting or in client office with Municipal Agency staff. u00a0 Responsibilities & Duties: u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Must be able to work independently with limited supervision u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Possess the knowledge and ability to work with municipal reference documents in conjunction with project plans and specifications u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0May include work in office with municipal Agency staff u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Must be able to utilize independent judgment and initiative to achieve project objectives u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Experience with development improvement plan review (e.g. grading, street, storm drain/hydrology, water, recycled water, and sewer plan set submittals) u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Check for accuracy of design and adherence to Agency guidelines, standards, specifications, and check lists u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Evaluate design for constructability, maintainability, and operability u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Track project budgets and prepare construction cost estimates u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Interface with Agency staff, inspectors, developers, engineers, and the public/customers u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks quickly, and coordinate schedules with several concurrent projects. u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Site visits/meetings with applicant, as necessary u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Track projectu2019s milestones throughout plan check and construction cycle Qualifications & Skills: u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0College Degree, Civil Engineering degree, required u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Professional Engineering License, preferred u2022u00a0u00a0 u00a0Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering, plan check, or pipeline design experience,u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 u00a0 preferred Compensation & Benefits The hourly rate offered for this position is $54-68/hr.
