Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Must have MS Project experience. Also previous hardware background.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Seeking aMid-to-Senior Level Engineer with 5 to 15 yearsof technical experienceto become an assistant Deputy Program Manager Engineering (DPME) dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics in the Combat Hardware Business area focused on Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and other ancillary systems.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop a comprehensive understanding of CWL systems and componentsDevelop and maintain Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all CWL activitiesEnsure all project deliverables are developed with high quality and on timeEnsure all engineering processes adhere to established engineering practicesInteracts with the Program Management Team to ensure project staffing supports operational objectivesIdentify, develop, analyze, and report engineering project measuresManage the resolution of technical issues, communicate the resolution to all affected parties, and ensure that the resolution is carried out in all the affected artifactsDevelop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain designs to program management and the Navy customer teamInteract with customers at technical levelsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCandidates should have technical acumen, an educational background, and experience in hardware developmentHighly proficient problem-solving skills in complex environmentsHighly proficient communication skills, with the ability to clearly report relevant information and effectively convey project topics to diverse audiencesProven organizational and time management skillsStrong ability to manage tasks and work independently with minimal supervisionDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate a team, and resolve conflictsFamiliarity with hardware and system integration testing (Assembly Level Test / Unit Test / Integration Test / System Performance Test)Familiarity with US Navy product development and shipboard qualification processFamiliarity with System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processSkilled in organizing project tasks and developing schedulesHighly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft ProjectStrong written and oral communication skillsTravel may be required as part of this positionOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options:This position is Onsite.While on-site, you will be a part of the Manassas, VA location.#CJ2This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
