Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jamestown, New York. This role involves overseeing critical accounting functions, supporting financial reporting activities, and ensuring accurate allocation of revenues and expenses. You will play a key role in maintaining systematic financial records and supervising assigned staff while contributing to the analysis and development of program-specific business plans. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data. u2022 Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records. u2022 Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities. u2022 Support the Assistant Director of Finance in managing financial operations and reporting. u2022 Allocate revenue and expenses across various programs and analyze program-specific financial data. u2022 Supervise and mentor assigned staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to policies. u2022 Maintain systematic records of financial transactions and assist with audits as needed. u2022 Develop and analyze business plans to enhance program effectiveness and financial performance. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounting, with strong expertise in month-end close processes. u2022 Proficiency in managing general ledger operations and preparing journal entries. u2022 Skilled in performing account and bank reconciliations with attention to detail. u2022 Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. u2022 Experience in supervising staff and managing team workflows. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and develop program-specific business strategies. u2022 Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain systematic financial records. u2022 Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
