Ensure medical records reflect nutritional status of the individuals and meets the OPWDD regulations. Maintain annual completion of assessments.u2022 Assist NSA and support staff with menu writing. Review menus for regular and modified diets. Ensure cycle menus conform with RDA's and meet individuals' physiological needs.u2022 Complete individual nutrition notes as established through risk priority of each individual. Attend Life Plan meetings and discharge meetings. Complete annual assessments, care plans and discharge summary. Process diet changes. Maintain monthly diet list and computer records.u2022 Make recommendations to the treatment team for the maintenance and/or improvement of nutritional status. May order diets or recommend changes to diet regimen to address nutritional concerns.u2022 Schedule and conduct Nutrition in-service education/training for Food Service and Direct Care staff. Maintain attendance records and record topics covered.u2022 Act as back-up for Nutritional Services administrator as needed. Implement plans for corrective action.u2022 Ensure the OPWDD regulations are adhered to and for overall nutritional health and safety of the individuals.u2022 Proficient in computer use.u2022 Make quarterly monitoring visits to assigned community homes and conduct IRA sanitation inspections on assigned IRAu2019s.LinkedIn: Minimum Qualifications Promotion:Current registration with the CDR as an RD or certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist by the NYSED, and one year of service as a Dietitian 1.Open Competitive: Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD.Maintains current certification in New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist.Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status.
