Sr. Associate - Real Estate Group

Description We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Real Estate Group of a respected private equity firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing accounting and reporting processes for a diverse portfolio of direct real estate investments. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with various internal teams and external partners, ensuring the financial success of a wide range of asset sectors. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage accurate accounting and reporting for real estate investments on a monthly and quarterly basis, including reviewing promote and management fee calculations. u2022 Maintain regular communication with joint venture partners to discuss financial operations and transactions. u2022 Collaborate with the fund administrator to review and ensure the accuracy of quarterly and annual financial statements. u2022 Perform weekly fund cash availability analyses to assess loan drawdowns and repayments. u2022 Coordinate and review investor-level capital calls and distribution notices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. u2022 Evaluate internal valuations and external appraisals of real estate assets, preparing detailed materials for the Valuation Committee. u2022 Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Investment, Portfolio Analytics, Tax, and Legal on financial matters related to investments and funds. u2022 Oversee the completion and accuracy of fund-level audits by liaising with auditors. u2022 Review annual property budgets and monitor budget-to-actual variances, providing insights and recommendations. u2022 Lead special projects aimed at improving internal processes and team efficiency. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a focus on real estate or investments. u2022 Strong expertise in month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in general ledger management and financial statement preparation. u2022 Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis. u2022 Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights. u2022 Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners. u2022 Experience working with valuation processes and financial audits. u2022 Knowledge of relevant industry and accounting standards applicable to real estate investments.
