As the Brush Team Lead you will provide direction, instructions and guidance to assigned functional area(s) and complete projects as assigned. This role promotes a positive environment that fosters teamwork and ensures safe and efficient processes and procedures. Primary Function: u2022 Perform at two brush manufacturing work cells u2022 Set up and operate machines at a minimum efficiency rate while meeting productivity, quality and safety requirements. Inspect parts for conformance using measuring instruments. (Pull Force gauge, Tuft weight scale) u2022 Perform periodic troubleshooting and adjustment to build a quality part u2022 Focus on safety and ensure all safety devices and procedures are being used within their work area u2022 Required to stand for entire shift u2022 Must be able to follow all listed safety regulations. This includes, but not limited to, wearing safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe shoes. u2022 Achieves and maintains established quality and efficiency standards u2022 Makes parts uniform to Engineering drawing specifications u2022 Moves raw materials, work in process, and finished goods in and out of work cell u2022 Performs operator level preventative maintenance and lubrication u2022 Performs housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe and well organized u2022 Understands and identifies continuous improvement activities u2022 Willingness to remain flexible in work schedules including overtime as necessary to meet deadlines Skills/Technical Expertise: u2022 Ability to safely set up, operate, and maintain CNC based brush manufacturing equipment u2022 Make parts to meet the requirements of design and manufacturing engineering using proper tooling, inspection equipment and proper set-up and operation of equipment u2022 Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows u2022 Ability to perform routine machine changeovers using hand tools u2022 Ability to meet the quality requirements of producing an acceptable brush GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Provide daily work direction and prioritize workload within their function(s) u2022 Responsible for department/shift in absence of supervision u2022 Motivate team members to meet deadlines and productivity goals and addresses performance issues as needed u2022 Lead continuous improvement efforts and Kaizen events u2022 Identify, troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks, process failures, incomplete procedures, supply chain problems and training deficiencies. Use a data driven problem solving approach to make fact-based decisions u2022 Monitor key metrics to assess safety, quality, engagement, delivery, and cost u2022 Actively engage and collaborate with the team on improvements of safety, quality, delivery and cost u2022 Provide root cause & short-term corrective action for customer service and quality issues u2022 Aid in troubleshooting problems within the function u2022 Ensure the training of associates u2022 Report violations of policies and procedures to supervisor u2022 Attend and actively participate in start of shift meetings daily u2022 Trained in security and emergency response details u2022 Spend 80% of time on the floor and 20% of time behind the computer u2022 Work on floor as assigned REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: u2022 Prefer a 2-year degree from an accredited institution u2022 Previous experience in a distribution center/manufacturing environment. Tennant Company experience preferred. u2022 Experience leading teams preferred u2022 Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS: u2022 Ability to acquire a forklift license u2022 Actively develop leadership skills toward supervision u2022 Ability to solve problems u2022 Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment u2022 Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment u2022 Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining client service orientation u2022 Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information u2022 Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business u2022 Ability to take direction and accept supervision u2022 Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations u2022 Must be flexible with schedule to cover OT and absentee, including weekends if needed REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: u2022 Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 30 pounds Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $49,800 - 74,900 Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
