Job Title: Outreach Coordinator Location: Syracuse Salary: $23.00 $25.00/hourlyClassification: Non-Exempt, full-time, thirty-five-hour (35.0) week; occasional evenings and weekends are required for meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminarsPosition Summary: The Outreach Coordinator supports the Syringe Exchange Program (SEP) by planning, coordinating, and delivering harm reduction services to people who use drugs. This role focuses on building trust within the community, reducing the spread of infectious diseases, preventing overdose deaths, and connecting participants to health and social services.Apply: Qualifications:Education and ExperienceAt least two years of experience working in a social service or health care agency providing direct client services to People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) and other diverse populations (e.g., people of color, LGBTQI+ individuals, people with behavioral health needs, or those experiencing homelessness).Experience delivering stigma-free, non-judgmental, and culturally competent services.Skills and CompetenciesStrong acceptance of harm reduction philosophy and commitment to health equity.Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, chronic illness, LGBTQ+ issues, and strong alignment with ACR Healths mission, vision, and values.Effective and professional communication skills for working with internal staff, community partners, and referral agencies.Strong documentation skills with high attention to detail and accurate data entry.Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse colleagues and clientele.Other RequirementsValid New York State drivers license and reliable access to a vehicle with current insurance for work-related travel, training, outreach, and occasional client transport (personal vehicle ownership not required).Primary ResponsibilitiesIncorporate best practices regarding confidentiality into all job duties and communications in accordance with Article 27-F, HIPAA, ACR Health policies, and all applicable regulations; protect agency data per established protocols.Plan, coordinate, and deliver evidence-based harm reduction interventions and activities to priority populations, as outlined in program work plans.Promote and support low-threshold, low-barrier harm reduction services, including sterile syringe access, safer injection education, linkage to MOUD, naloxone training and overdose prevention kits, community education, and anti-stigma efforts.Support the continuum of substance use services and expand access to overdose prevention services, including drug checking (e.g., testing strips and spectroscopy technologies).Oversee and coordinate outreach efforts for the SEP outreach and engagement team in rural areas of Cayuga, Oswego, and Oneida Counties.Assist with SEP mobile service delivery in Oswego (Ride About and Special Arrangements) to conduct outreach, engagement, and program awareness activities.Supervise the Outreach Specialist and other assigned team members.Enter all required data into the AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS) in a timely and accurate manner.Maintain complete and accurate client and service records in accordance with agency policies and plete monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports within agency and departmental guidelines.Participate in community outreach services, including educational presentations and collaboration with providers.Identify, develop, and maintain networking relationships with community-based organizations.Assist with general Harm Reduction Department work, including special projects and broader agency initiatives.
