Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist - 2-phase cooling The Advanced R&D Engineer Scientist will be responsible developing advanced two-phase cooling technologies for data centers. This engineer will support development of internal modeling and simulation tools, experiments to support the growth of the Refrigerants business. The engineer needs to effectively communicate technical information to industry and customers to assist their transition to new environmentally safer refrigerant substitutes. Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. This job will facilitate design, development, and testing to meet project objectives faster and more efficiently and you develop and commercialize products & technologies. Key Responsibilities u00b7 Research and advance thermal management technologies for data centers, focusing on single-phase and two-phase direct-to-chip cooling systems. u00b7 Design, source, build, and operate testbeds and proof-of-concept systems, analyzing thermal and computational performance with a deep understanding of underlying physics. u00b7 Serve as the local expert in evaluating thermal performance, and electrical/computational performance criteria. u00b7 Conduct simulations, thermal-mechanical analysis, CFD modeling, and statistical Design of Experiments to optimize system performance. u00b7 Partner with cross-functional teams to drive novel cooling technologies, ensure high scientific rigor, and deliver solutions with industry-leading performance. Responsibilities You Must Have: u2022 Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in research OR u2022 5+ years of experience working for manufacturers of thermal systems, electronics cooling. OR u2022 5+ years of research experience in an academic setting that works closely with the industry We value u2022 Knowledge/experience on the design/development of thermal systems u2022 Good understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and two-phase cooling. u2022 Ability to do both experimental and theoretical work u2022 Experience in working on global project teams is preferred u2022 Excellent verbal and communication skills u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills u2022 Demonstrated ability to drive technology commercialization is a plus u2022 Passion for innovation and continuous learning u2022 Attention to detail COMPENSATION The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000-$120,000.
