Job Description

Element has an opportunity for a Machinist to join our rapidly expanding team.As a member of the operations team, the Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the machine shop and insures timely and accurate test materials are provided to the testing departments. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.Compensation: $24-28/hour (depending on experience)Use of bandsaws, manual and CNC lathes, and mills to machine a variety of metals into suitable test specimensEnsure safe operation of machinery at all timesEnsure all material is machined correctly to customer/industry specificationsAbility to transfer technical knowledge of machining procedures/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer expectationsMaintains equipment and schedules preventative maintenanceGather and record dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements2-5-years' experience working in machine shops preferred (training will be provided)Good problem-solving skillsNeed to be willing to take the initiative and work with minimal supervision (after training)Pro-active attitude and willing to take on new tasks and projectsAble to be flexible with hours/days worked as overtime and weekend working is requiredGood understanding of measurements and measuring toolsAttention to detail and able to read and understand specificationsPhysical Demands:Frequency of required physical force: ModerateLifting requirements: lifting 50 lbs. on occasionAbility to stand on feet for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50+lbs periodicallyElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
