Alpine has $16 billion in assets under management and has three offices in San Francisco, New York, and Salt Lake City.Job Description - Group ControllerMission of the Role:The Group Controller for Apex Service Partners will be a critical leader and manager, participating in building a best-in-class shared services organization as a key partner with the senior leadership team at the Company.The Group Controller must be a change agent, experienced in leading process transformations and technology implementations such as procure-to-pay and inventory management systems, and possess superior organization and communication skills as well as strong attention to detail. This individual will be responsible, directly or indirectly, for operational accounting functions such as accounts payable, revenue and inventory accounting, accounts receivable and payroll, and will also have ownership of the implementation of groupwide and GAAP accounting policies. This individual will lead and motivate a large, geographically diverse team in a fast-paced environment and will have technical accounting competence, critical thinking skills and strong leadership capabilities.Responsibilities:Full cycle accounting for the core operational functions of the accounting organization, including accounts payable, revenue and inventory accounting, accounts receivable and payrollMonth-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for accounting activities within assigned topical areasEstablish relationships with the accounting leaders and key finance leaders and support the regional accounting teams to produce accurate, complete and timely financial statementsDeliver process transformations and technology implementations such as procure-to-pay and inventory management systems that are highly automated, efficient, are in accordance with GAAP, and audit readyEnsure there are proper reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accountsDesign and maintain internal controls and documentation to effectively manage financial riskCollaborate and build strong relationships with leaders of cross-functional corporate and regional teams to ensure efficient reporting processesLead a geographically diverse teamSupport transformation which includes evaluating current accounting processes to achieve standardization and contributing to continuous process improvements by focusing on value-added activities and leveraging technology for increased efficiency and automationCoordinate with the external auditors to ensure successful engagement; provide all requested schedules, information and support as needed to support audit and tax preparationActively mentor and develop team members to create an environment that encourages an openness to transformationQualifications & Experience:12+ years of prior accounting experience, public and private accounting strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree a plusCPA license required; strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting requiredA change agent, leading process transformations and technology implementations such as procure-to-pay and inventory management systemsMulti-location accounting experience requiredExperience managing and supervising a decentralized teamExperience leading, organizing and developing a teamExperience with Sage Intacct and accounting system implementations a plusStrong communication skills including ability to present to senior leadershipDemonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with all facets of the organization to develop and execute plans, leveraging various teams across the organizationExcellent team building skills, strategic problem-solving skills, strong project and resource management skills, analytical and conceptual thinking skillsInterest in joining a well-capitalized entrepreneurial teamPersonal Characteristics:Analytical-finds meaning and action in numbers, and is data-drivenExcellent communicator-written and oralResourceful-figures out how to achieve results creatively with finite resourcesThrives in a nimble, lean, fast-paced entrepreneurial environmentWorks collaboratively and energeticallyImpeccable integrity and ethical standardsSelf-aware, accepting, honest, open, and respectful of othersAbility to create and execute on processes for professionalizing family-owned businesses using best practicesAn undying commitment to personal growth and developmentOther:Location: Tampa, FL or Dallas, TXCompensation: CompetitiveOther Benefits: medical, dental and vision coverage, competitive PTO, sick days, and holidays, 401k matching
