Snack Bar Assistant

The Summer Snack Bar Attendant provides excellent customer service while preparing and serving food and beverages at the YMCA's summer snack bar. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, inventory, and ensuring a positive guest experience while promoting a welcoming environment for all visitors.Greet all customers with a friendly, positive attitude and assist them in selecting snacks, beverages, and other available productsPrepare and serve food and beverages according to YMCA health and safety standardsEnsure the snack bar area is kept clean and organized at all times, including wiping down counters, cleaning equipment, and maintaining sanitary conditionsHandle cash and process transactions accurately using the register or point-of-sale systemMonitor inventory levels and notify Snack Bar Supervisor when supplies are running lowAssist in setting up and stocking the snack bar at the beginning of the shift, and ensure proper storage of leftover items at the end of the shiftAdhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation practices, and allergen awarenessPromote YMCA programs, services, and events when interacting with guestsAssist with opening and closing the snack bar, ensuring the area is clean and secure at the end of each shiftProvide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or issues from guests promptly and professionallyCollaborate with other snack bar attendants and staff to ensure smooth operation and a positive experience for all visitorsPerform other duties as assigned by the Snack Bar Lead and Aquatics DirectorMust be at least 16 years of agePrevious customer service experience, especially in food service, is preferred but not requiredFood Handler certification required within first 30 days of employmentMandated ReporterStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to handle cash and operate a point-of-sales systemAbility to lift and move up to 25 poundsMust be dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of teamA positive, friendly attitude and a commitment to excellent customer serviceMust be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed during the summer seasonFree MembershipDiscounted Programming8% Retirement for Vested EmployeesOpportunities for Training and AdvancementWork That Makes a Lasting DifferenceUSD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
