Our products protect human life and personal property, improve the quality of life, generate economic prosperity, and connect society.Titan Virginia Ready Mix has an excellent opportunity for a Concrete Quality Control Technician for its Virginia Ready-Mix division, located in Sterling, VA. This salaried non-exempt position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor. The primary functions of this position are to ensure high-quality ready-mix products and provide industry-related technical assessments.Responsibilities:Perform sample testing and monitoring of our concrete production and procedures for the regionObserve job site testing and perform comparative testing with independent testing agenciesCommunicate with customers, testing laboratories, dispatch, and plant supervisors regarding mix utilization and admixture dosage ratesPerform plant inspections of our facilities and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with project specifications, VDOT, Federal specifications, and Titan America’s QA guidelinesPerform visual inspection assessments of job site conditions, solutions, and recommendations to correct problems if they occurMonitor test report data and plant records to help determine specification compliance by project, Federal, and State specificationsPerform all pertinent ASTM, ACI, and VDOT testing procedures and evaluationsSupports Sales and Production departments in resolving quality-based customer queries and complaintsParticipates in the analysis of customer claims and supports the investigation of the causes linked to process or production conditionsMay serve as a backup plant operator; responsible for the safe, efficient production of ready-mix concreteVDOT Plant, ACI Field Testing, Aggregate, and Lab Technician Certifications preferred or able to obtain within the first six months of hireMinimum one year of experience in Ready Mix Concrete, quality control, or related industryS. Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferredMust have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsMust be computer literate in Windows, Excel, Adobe, and MS Office. Knowledge of other software programs and computer functionality is a plusExcellent data entry skills and ability to multitask under pressureDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all timesWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as requiredWorking outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights, and lifting to 50 lbs.Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtimeThe job requires the following motions: climbing, stretching, driving/steering, sitting, twisting, vibration, riding on rough terrain, and exposure to extremes of heat or cold weatherAbility to pass pre-employment processes, including criminal background check, physical, and drug screenTravel between sites as neededTitan America is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) / Affirmative Action employer that welcomes all qualified applicants.
