We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA’s pursuits in deep space exploration.Currently there is an exciting opportunity in Houston, TX for aMobile Servicing Systems (MSS) Robotics Systems Engineerto support the Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Subsystem Manager as part of our long-standing partnership with NASA. This role involves providing comprehensive engineering support for the integration of space station hardware with the International Space Station (ISS), focusing on robotic systems.The MSS Robotics Systems Engineer will:Support the robotics systems engineering team in integrating space station hardware with the ISS Contribute to end-to-end engineering activities including requirements definition, design, integration, testing, verification,and on-orbit operations for ISS utilization customers and system providers requiring robotics support Establish and define robotics systems requirements for MSS end users Provide technical consultation to end users to ensure proper application of MSS requirements in their system designs Conduct analytical assessments of end-user designs to identify potential needs for non-standard services, such as robotics testing at Johnson Space Center facilities Guide end users through verification processes, ensuring they provide adequate evidence for successful verification closure Review and approve verification data submissions for compliance with MSS requirementsSupport programmatic forums, including ISS boards, panels, project reviews, and regular team meetings Support the identification and resolution of technical and safety issues related to robotics in ground processing, flight environments, visiting vehicle operations, and on-orbit transfers Assist the MSS Subsystem Manager in reviewing program documentation and assessing potential impacts on robotic systems Provide engineering support for resolving robotic-related issues during the design, testing, and operational phases of payloads and visiting vehicles Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the Flight Systems Branch and broader engineering initiativesThis position is posted at multiple levels.Depending on the candidate’s experience, position requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.Required Education/Experience/Skills:Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related areaBachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering from an accredited engineering schoolPreferred Education/Experience/Skills:Experience or course work in hardware/software integration and testing, systems engineering, systems verification, and robotics analysis Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment with clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer interface skills required Analytical and problem-solving skills are a must Experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, Outlook Capable of reading/understanding technical manuals, drawings, and schematics Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple projectsEssential Requirements:Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigationPost offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol as outlined in our Drug Free Workplace policyWork may involve sitting for extended periodsMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbsMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessaryGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on taskStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is criticalAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when requiredMust be able to work in a team atmosphereMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperationGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or othersThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as neededDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!Barrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
