Join our team, be part of the solution, and help us continue to sustain our highly competitive nature, both now and in the future.TheMaintenance Repairmanposition is critical in ensuringthat the processes and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment are maintained in a preventative fashion, to ensure optimum reliability and up time.In this position, you will be provided with plenty of opportunities to develop and enhance your skills, and build a career with Alamo Cement.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Inspect, operate and/or test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and provide recommendations for repair.Locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Provide detailed written description of work performed.Provide scope of work, parts, and equipment requirements for repairs during both scheduled and unscheduled mill and kiln outages.Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run efficient and effectively.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them.High School Diploma or equivalent from accredited institution is requiredTechnical/Trade School Degree or Certificate PreferredApplicable Licenses Preferred but not requiredMust have minimum of four (4) years’ experience in heavy process equipment, preferably in the mineral processing industry, or a minimum of six months experience cement plant operationsAbility to remove and install guards and other equipmentAbility to align couplings, motors and gearboxesAbility to maintain and replace bearingsMust be able to exhibit competence in welding and flame cuttingAbility to perform mechanical assembly and fabricationAbility to operate maintenance trucks, mobile equipment, forklifts and manliftsEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersClose attention to detailMaintain and clean and safe working environment by complying with safety policies, practices and proceduresAble to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime as requiredSpeak, read, write and understand EnglishAbility to work independently, without constant supervisionAble to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditionsIn good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders and walk on mixed terrain and in confined spacesAlamo Cement offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits including 401k.
