NaphCare is hiring a Lead Order Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at our Corporate Headquarterslocated inBirmingham, AL.NaphCare Rx, is NaphCare's in-house pharmacy dedicated solely to correctional facilities across the country. Connected by our operations management software and EHR, TechCare, NaphCare Rx pharmacists become an integrated, essential part of the clinical team, from electronic medicine orders and secure delivery to pharmacy consultation and review. NaphCare Rx also extends purchasing discounts and cost savings directly to our partners and employees.Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Order Entry Pharmacy Technician is responsible for receiving and filling prescription requests for patients and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Initial training will be 2 weeks of working 9a-6p Monday through Friday.As the Order Entry Pharmacy, you will be responsible for receiving and filling prescriptions for corrections patients, employees, and public health client patients. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standardsCommunicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organizationMaintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processesDemonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and organizational criteriaReceive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurateMaintain proper storage and security conditions for all medicationsFill prescribed medications and affix labels as necessaryClean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as requiredOrder, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory dataReceive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortagesExperience / Requirements / QualificationsMust hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of 1-year experiencePTCB/NHA technician certification is requiredWillingness to be trained (if necessary) and work in a USP797/800 clean room environment as necessary to meet business needsMust complete sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license and technician certification. Ensure all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and proceduresDemonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient careWill be assigned to departmental duties in other areas as needed.Willingness to complete special projects as needed from managementWillingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak timesMust have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities:Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why Join NaphCare?NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
