Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As an Addictions Counselor 1 at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, you will provide addictions counseling and treatment services to individuals with mental illness. Duties include:u2022 Completing psychosocial assessments and substance-related screenings.u2022 Developing individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives.u2022 Conducting individual and group counseling sessions. u2022 Monitoring and reporting on individuals' progress and maintaining records. u2022 Providing education and information to individuals families throughout the treatment process. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement u2013 Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are registered as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), CASAC Level 2, CASAC-Advanced Counselor, or CASAC Master Counselor in New York State.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
