They collaborate with the patient, pertinent family members, and medical multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal care. They play a critical role in perioperative management assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring comprehensive recovery.The surgical orthopedic APP specializes in evaluating patients perioperatively and assisting with orthopedic surgeries, including, but not limited to, joint replacement, fracture fixations, and ligament repairs. They will also provide perioperative care such as wound management, arthrocentesis and joint injections, pain control, and rehabilitation oversight. They will perform bedside procedures, order and interpret diagnostic imaging, and educate patients on recovery strategies.
