Database Administrator

Description We are looking for an experienced Database Architect to oversee the management, optimization, and security of our database platforms. This role involves administering both on-premises Microsoft SQL Server and cloud-based systems such as Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake. You will ensure the performance, availability, and compliance of enterprise data assets while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage and maintain database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and cloud environments such as Azure SQL and Snowflake. u2022 Develop and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery protocols, ensuring alignment with recovery objectives and conducting regular tests. u2022 Design high-availability configurations and capacity plans to support organizational data needs. u2022 Optimize database performance by monitoring query execution, addressing bottlenecks, and improving resource utilization. u2022 Build and maintain data pipelines for ingestion and integration into Snowflake, utilizing tools like Microsoft Data Gateway and secure file transfers. u2022 Strengthen database security through role-based access control, encryption, and adherence to data retention policies. u2022 Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools such as PowerShell and Azure SQL. u2022 Monitor database platforms using alerts, dashboards, and automated tools to ensure system health and reliability. u2022 Support audits and regulatory examinations by providing evidence of database configurations and resolving findings. u2022 Collaborate with analytics, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless data connectivity, modeling, and secure vendor integrations. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience. u2022 At least 2 years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server in production environments, including tasks such as installation, HA/DR setup, and performance tuning. u2022 Hands-on experience with Azure SQL and Snowflake database systems, including roles, storage, and cost management. u2022 Proficiency in automation using PowerShell and Azure SQL tools. u2022 Strong skills in T-SQL scripting for database management. u2022 Experience with secure data integration and managing connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments. u2022 Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI Gateway clusters and optimization techniques is preferred. u2022 Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate or Snowflake SnowPro Core are advantageous.
