Description We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team in Anderson, Indiana, on a contract basis. This role involves managing purchasing activities, ensuring timely renewal of contracts, and addressing outstanding tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in procurement processes and a solid understanding of purchasing operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee procurement tasks to ensure timely and efficient purchasing operations. u2022 Handle contract renewals and maintain accurate records for ongoing agreements. u2022 Manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies. u2022 Collaborate with suppliers to secure materials and maintain optimal inventory levels. u2022 Address and resolve any backlogged purchasing activities. u2022 Coordinate with internal departments to meet organizational procurement needs. u2022 Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality and reliability. u2022 Maintain an organized purchasing database for tracking and reporting purposes. u2022 Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for improved purchasing strategies. Requirements u2022 Minimum of three to five years of experience in purchasing or buying roles. u2022 Strong knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing activities. u2022 Proficiency in managing purchase orders and vendor relationships. u2022 Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication and negotiation abilities. u2022 Familiarity with inventory management and contract administration. u2022 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
