Designer are responsible for developing detailed raceway designs including duct bank, embedded conduit and cable tray from concept to completion. Location This position can be based in any of the following office locations: Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix/Tempe, AZ; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in office arrangement once the new office is established. Responsibilities u2022 Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data u2022 Perform calculations to size and check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements u2022 Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability u2022 Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule u2022 Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs u2022 Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements u2022 Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes u2022 Reports project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team u2022 Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions u2022 Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met u2022 Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures u2022 Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking u2022 Resolves checked drawings; prove and understand comments made u2022 Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development u2022 Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues Qualifications u2022 At least 8 yearsu2019 experience in electrical design u2022 Power generation experience, preferred. u2022 Experience with underground designs from concept to completion u2022 Experience in cable tray, grounding and lighting from concept to completion u2022 Experience in SmartPlant 3D u2022 Experience in MicroStation or AutoCAD u2022 Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment. u2022 Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environment u2022 Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills #LI-SM1 Working Conditions Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment u2022 Perform work safely and effectively.
