We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications The Transfer Center RN is responsible for coordinating direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from RRMC. The Transfer Center RN is also responsible for performing bed management duties. What you will do in this role: + Work in a customer-centric transfer call center; respond to all callers with the aid of an electronic database of service profiles, approved clinical protocols and healthcare information. + Follow specific protocols, policies, procedures, andutilizeestablished resources. + Work collaboratively with team members ensuringappropriate patientadmission and patient placement. + Work collaboratively with team members to ensure exceptional consumer experience. + Efficiently andeffectively,manage all hospital transfers. Consult with on-call physiciansregardingpatient careissues, needs and concerns,advisewhenappropriate. + Establish andmaintaina high degree of awareness and knowledge of hospitalsu2019 medical staff, services, and special programs. + Assist in data collection, monitoring, evaluation, andanalyzing oftriage problems for thepurpose of developing and implementing protocols, policies, and procedures. + Exhibitand model exceptionalcustomer relationshipbehaviors, including telephone and personal contact withall ofthe call centeru2019s customer groups (i.e.physicians and their office staffs, callers, and fellow employees). + Maintain composure and customer-centriccommunication with challenging callers. + Practice and adhere to the u201cCode of Conductu201d philosophy and u201cMission and Value Statement.u201d + Prioritizes workload to effectively perform bed management duties whilefacilitatingtransfers to and from RRMC. + Other duties as assigned. + Must be proficient in EMTALA. + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with physicians and their offices to coordinate admission. + Problem-solving skills todeterminethe best course of action, which will be satisfactory to the patient, the physicians, and the hospital. + Knowledge of basic hospital services. + Ability to analyze information of a complex nature. + Ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks. + Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant data bases. + Ability to work independently and under pressure to follow through on issues. + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. + Ability toestablishand maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations. + Ability to work effectively with other employees and external parties. What qualifications you will need: + Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + (RN) Registered Nurse, or Registered Nurse Diploma + Minimum 5 years progressive nursing experience Rapides Regional Medical Center is a 350+ bed hospital and ER in Alexandria, Louisiana.
