Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Manager for Product Compliance to drive compliance solutions and strategic projects in support of AWS's expanding hardware technologies. As a compliance leader in a fast-paced environment, you can expect to leverage your hardware design and compliance standards knowledge to translate complex issues into opportunities. Alongside our growing team, you will use a combination of subject matter expertise and business acumen to think outside the box and influence direction. You can expect to make an impact by executing core functions such as; working across subject matter experts to identify compliance requirements, recommending and implementing control mechanisms to mitigate risk, and diving deep into program specific requirements to define compliance solutions. You will successfully balance moving fast to unblock short-term issues with our long-term needs from a compliance, strategic and financial perspective. This role includes interacting with and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders including AWS Development, Datacenter Engineering, AWS Services, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, Public Policy and other partners. Key job responsibilities - Operate as focal leader for compliance related readiness for AWS new product introduction from design to deployment for general availability and strategic hardware initiatives - Proactively identify compliance requirements, risks and manage mitigations by establishing policies, processes, and mechanisms - Work cross-functionally to help achieve execution against international standards for product requirements and internal policies - Deep dive complex hardware design topics including safety, EMC, radio frequency, materials restrictions, energy consumption, and homologation and navigate barriers where the technology needed to deploy is beyond the limits of the current standards and 3rd party lab capabilities. - Drive compliance program integration with AWS hardware development teams - Develop and oversee change management and nearly continuous process improvement - including input to audit and oversight mechanisms - Educate leadership on the appropriate execution of product compliance requirements and risks A day in the life This position reports to the Sr Manager, Global Product and Regulatory Compliance Operations in the Global Trade and Product Compliance ('GTPC') function. GTPC is responsible for providing global trade and product compliance support for infrastructure equipment necessary to support AWS services, across countries where AWS currently operates and/or expect to expand. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
