Research Scientist. 2545 Farmers Drive, Ste 200, Columbus, OH 43235. Design and develop engineering workflows and methodologies for geometry preparation and meshing in support of metal forming. Analyze geometry pre-processing and mesh generation components to prepare simulation inputs for metal forming analyses. Apply principles of mechanical engineering, computational geometry, and finite element mesh generation using technologies such as C++, Fortran, Qt, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Implement techniques for repairing flawed or incomplete geometry to ensure suitability for engineering simulation. Support design and development aspects, including Plane slicing, Curve-based splitting, Boolean operations, Curve imprinting, Geometry translation and duplication, Hole filling, and Orientation checking, to enhance software performance. Create mesh structures with variable mesh density in deformation-critical areas. Improve simulation accuracy to ensure high-quality mesh representation in regions where material separation or shearing occurs. Analyze customer and software needs to develop proper geometry pre-processing and mesh generation specifications.u00a0Requirements: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Knowledge of 1) C/C++ programming languages, 2) GUI design/Computer Graphics, 3) Parallel Computing, and 4) Data/Geometry modeling, as demonstrated by 2 graduate academic courses, graduate thesis research, or 6 months of experience in each of four areas noted above, is required.
