Job Description

ABCD delivers its programs and services through a network ofneighborhood sites located throughout Boston and Malden. As a ClientAdvocate, you will handle direct case management services to clientscurrently at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line who live inBoston, Malden, Medford, and Everett at a neighborhood site. KeyResponsibilities Responsible for maintaining case management files, andproviding supportive services and referrals Conduct intake process andassist clients in establishing educational and occupational goals.Develop positive working relationships with various organizations withinthe public and private sectors to expand placement efforts. Identifysupport services needed and make appropriate referrals and orient newclients to referred programs. Conduct workshops for the diversepopulations of a specific community. Assist clients in properlycompleting job applications and resumes for employment opportunities.Follow up with prospective agencies and employers to maintain up-to-dateinformation on employment opportunities. Provide clients with servicesfor EITC tax preparation, food pantry, fuel assistance, SummerWorks, andVirtual Gateway services, including food stamps and health insurance.Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time. Skills,Knowledge and Expertise Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent,with up to one year of experience in case management, job development orgeneral office support required Demonstrated proficiency in MicrosoftWord and Excel required Excellent oral and written communication skillsMust be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals ofdiverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Bilingualskills in Spanish are highly preferred. Expected Salary: $43,000 USD.Salary scales are set according to an explicit compensation policy andrelevant market data. Due to funding restrictions and our strong focuson internal parity, this salary is thoughtfully aligned with the dutiesexpected for this role, and offers are firm.
